New Satellite Building
We have added a new satellite building located across the street from our main office at 2932 Lyndhurst Ave. This expansion increases our patient care capacity and improves access to services.
The satellite facility includes:
Clinical exam rooms
Pulmonary function testing
Select diagnostic services
X-ray imaging will continue to be provided at the main office.
Patients will be scheduled at the location that best fits their appointment type. Parking is available at both sites, and the satellite building is a short, accessible walk from the main office. About Pulmonary Medicine at Salem Chest Specialists
Pulmonary medicine focuses on diagnosing and treating diseases related to the lungs and breathing.
Salem Chest Specialists (SCS)—part of the Clinically Integrated Network of Novant Health (NH)—cares for patients with a full spectrum of pulmonary conditions. As part of the NH network, we maintain up‑to‑date electronic medical records using the EPIC-Dimensions system.
For education on common pulmonary diagnoses such as COPD, asthma, cough, or lung cancer, we encourage you to visit the patient education portal on our website.
SCS providers deliver:
Outpatient pulmonary services at two clinic locations in Winston-Salem
Inpatient pulmonary care at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center
We work closely with colleagues in Primary Care, Cardiology, ENT, Allergy, Oncology, and maintain a strong collaborative relationship with experts at the Derrick L. Davis Cancer Institute, including:

This multidisciplinary approach ensures efficient, comprehensive care for patients with lung cancer.
Advanced Bronchoscopy Program
Established in March 2023 under the leadership of Dr. Farhan Ahmed, our Advanced Bronchoscopy Program allows specially trained bronchoscopists to perform advanced procedures at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center two days each week.
Procedures include:
Navigational Bronchoscopy
Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS)
Program features:
A dedicated nurse navigator to coordinate referrals and results
Close collaboration with Novant Health nurse navigators
A shared goal of shortening the time from lung cancer diagnosis to treatment
Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Program
Our ILD Program, launched in January 2023 under Dr. Hassan Yousaf, has grown significantly, enrolling over 200 patients in its first 12 months. The program benefits both patients and providers within the region.
The ILD program follows evidence-based guidelines from:
Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF)
American Thoracic Society (ATS)
American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP)
Program Features:
Expedited ILD clinic appointments
Multidisciplinary case discussions with Pulmonologists, Rheumatologists, Radiologists, Pathologists, and Pulmonary Hypertension Specialists
Access to all major ILD clinical trials
Patient support group meetings
Direct access to an ILD Navigator, Biologic Coordinator, and ILD Specialist
We are actively accepting referrals to the ILD Program.
